The AHRI AI innovation lab is committed to advancing artificial intelligence to solve Ethiopia’s most pressing health challenges through inclusive, ethical, and sustainable solutions. By fostering local talent and international partnerships, the lab aims to create robust, locally-relevant AI models for disease surveillance, diagnostics, and personalized treatment plans. This work is crucial for leapfrogging traditional infrastructure hurdles and significantly improving health equity across all regions of the country. Our current focus includes developing machine learning algorithms to predict infectious disease outbreaks and utilizing computer vision for rapid, accurate analysis of medical images, especially in resource-limited settings.
