Written by The Armauer Hansen Research Institute (AHRI), in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, has successfully completed a two-day intensive training program focused on the implementation of AI-PRESCRIBER.
This innovative Clinical Decision Support System is designed to improve adherence to Ethiopia’s Standard Treatment Guidelines through the power of Artificial Intelligence.
The workshop brought together specialists from 13 different hospitals, with each institution delegating one expert to participate in the initiative. The training, held at the Elgel Hotel and spa at Addis Ababa.
Key areas of the training included:
1. AI-PRESCRIBER Implementation: Strengthening the use of clinical decision support systems to enhance patient outcomes.
2. Data Management with REDCap: Participants received hands-on training on how to use the REDCap (Research Electronic Data Capture) platform for efficient and accurate data collection as they transition into the operational phase of the project.
3. Specialized Expertise: The training specifically targeted Infection Disease Specialists to ensure high-level technical oversight during the project’s rollout.
Following this two-day session, the trained professionals are expected to return to their respective hospitals to lead the data collection phase and begin the practical application of the AI-PRESCRIBER system.
